Inspired by Lindsey over at The Pleated Poppy, this What I Wore series started as a motivator to get out of the SAHM uniform of t-shirts and yoga pants. This is a way of documenting my progress.

Ahem… allow me to take a moment to announce (drum roll, fanfare…)… our brand new site design. Things got a whole lot sunnier on the blog here this week. We traded in our signature rain boot for a whole lot of sunshine-y goodness, courtesy of JudithShakes Designs. I must admit I love waking up to it each morning! What do you think?
And now, back to the clothes! ![]()
This was the day of my son’s backyard birthday bash. This is the first year we decided to invite his friends to the family party, which resulted in a whopping 40 people on the guest list. You can’t see our house here, but trust me… it’s not that big. Luckily our guests braved the 95+ degree weather and even managed a few smiles for the birthday boy.
The embellished tee is from Target, the tank from Kohl’s and the shorts? Whoa, baby… I just picked those bad boys up on Saturday at Old Navy for only $6. Using my Groupon. That I bought with a Groupon credit. That equals FREE! And FREE always looks good in my mind (not really, but just let me have my moment here). Necklace is from Lia Sophia and sandals are Clarks (these are old, so I couldn’t find them anywhere. Here are cuter similar ones.)

This was an evening of celebrating my in-laws who graciously ignored their wedding anniversary (40 years!) on Sunday to sweat through attend their grandson’s birthday bash (see above). We took them to their favorite restaurant for a quiet-ish dinner (we did have a toddler and preschooler along, so… not really quiet. But you get the point).
That dress is from Target and it’s at least 10 years old. I kid you not. But I love it anyway. Wedges are from Marshalls and still not sitting right with me. But I keep on trucking along with them. Maybe if I were tanner? I don’t know. I’ll drop it.
How’d you do this week?
