FREE Trees for Philadelphia Residents

UPDATE: This program is back again for Fall 2012! And now, you can request up to TWO trees.

TreePhilly is a new program just launched by Philadelphia Parks & Recreation. They’re offering FREE tree to Philadelphia residents.

Residents can request TWO trees per address, to be planted on their private land. Pickup days will occur during late October and early November. This program is for private yard trees only (front, back, and side yards). If you are interested in a street tree or want to find out more about the Yard Tree Program, including tree species and size information, please visit www.treephilly.org.

The goal is to plant 15,000 new trees in the city in 2012 and helps tie in to Mayor Nutter’s Greenworks program, which would like to see 300,000 new trees planted by 2015.

See what some Philadelphia residents had to say about their experience with TreePhilly free tree program in the spring!
