I’m so excited to announce a new initiative I’ve joined. Recently I was named a DealPro over at Savings.com. I’m joining several other awesome frugal-minded bloggers (seriously, check them out!) in helping bring you the very best deals and money-saving tips.
If you’re not familiar with Savings.com, it not only offers online coupons and coupon codes but it also has helped Americans save more than 150 million dollars by providing the very best deals and expert shopping advice (that’s where I come in!). Our goal is to help you all save 1 billion dollars.
So together with Savings.com and all the other DealPros, we’re announcing a campaign to take the Savings Pledge and make a commitment to saving on the things you need so you can spend on the things you want.
Ready to join in? It’s simple, really. All you have to do is to log on to the Fun Finds for Families Facebook page to take the Savings Pledge and tell us how much you plan to save and what you’re saving for. When you take the pledge, Savings.com and the 2011 DealPros will help you in your savings journey by offering expert advice and tips.
Plus Savings.com will be celebrating key milestones along the way by offering consumers who have taken the pledge exclusive deals and offers! In addition, five randomly selected consumers from the first 500 people to take the pledge will win a one-on-one, personalized advice session with a 2011 DealPro! How cool is that? As though you needed extra incentive to save!
I’ve already taken the pledge myself. I’ll be attempting to save $50 per week. What am I saving for? I’m not really sure yet… but there was a kernel of an idea to go to the Bahamas next year for our anniversary. (That would be HUGE for us, by the way. We didn’t get to take a honeymoon and mostly our vacations have landed us to visit family, so this would be a “honeymoon-ish” trip for us… just 8 years later.
) But realistically, we could also use that extra $50 each week to pay for things like… I don’t know… preschool, gas or groceries.
So we’re all in this together. And we’re here to support each other. Deal?
I’d love to hear from you! What are your savings goals? How much will you try to save each week?

Great goal! My goal is to save $75 per week using coupons and cutting down on extra spending, for a total of $300 per month saved. Need to pay down credit card debt, then save for a POOL!!!
How fun, Dianna! It’ll feel great to have that credit card debt disappear and relax in a pool to celebrate!
