Fashion Friday: Back-to-school shopping (for moms)

by Alissa on August 26, 2011

One of my favorite times of the year while growing up was that week or two leading up to the start of school. We had usually packed in a good amount of activity over the course of the summer and by the time mid- to late-August rolled around? Well, I was totally OK with heading back to school, getting into a more regular routine and seeing friends every day. Besides. There were school clothes to buy. ;)

My oldest is still in preschool, but starting next year, he’ll be in uniforms every day. (Who knew we were moving to the land of uniforms? Public or private school… you’re in a uniform.) I’m not going to lie. It’s kind of disappointing that the days of back-to-school wardrobe refreshers are over. I mean, really. I’m honestly disappointed.

So what’s a mom to do? Well, refresh my own back-to-school wardrobe, of course! Or do a little dreaming, at the very least.

This Anthro ruffled top is at the very top of my wish list. I think the ruffles and bow speak for themselves.

Pair it with a pair of skinny jeans (my ongoing obsession) or, better yet, these toothpick cords from J.Crew. It is fall, after all.

And throw on these Born boots to really rock it at preschool pickup.

What’s on *your* back-to-school wardrobe wish list this year?
