the review

We recently had the opportunity to review the GeoSafari Jr. Talking Bug Net from Educational Insights.

The kids have had a lot of fun with it and it’s been a great addition to their collection of educational games.

This is one that both kids have really enjoyed.

Our daughter has fun listening to all the facts. She sits with the net and “feeds” bug after bug into the net to see what it has to share.

Our son enjoys learning new bug facts, too, but he’s also able to take it one step further and play the “bug quiz”.

Here the talking net will share a fun bug fact and ask which bug the fact describes. This is an especially neat feature, since the way to answer the questions is more interactive than the typical quiz. The net can distinguish which bug has been placed in the net, and in turn tells the child whether he or she is right on track or needs to try again.

The plastic bugs are durable and can be played with separately as well. Yes, there has been lots of bug play at our house the last couple weeks. All plastic, thankfully.

For two bug-hunting kids like mine, it’s fun to have a bug net that we can use both indoors and out and that helps us learn a little bit more along the way.
