I had a great trip to CVS last night. I went in with two missions: to replenish our cereal stock (we were completely out!) and to use up this crazy big ($26) Extra Care Buck (ECB) I had from buying the rechargeable Oral-B toothbrushes a couple weeks ago. Since it was all on one ECB, I knew it was actually going to be a bit of a challenge to find that many great deals to use it on in ONE transaction.
But I lucked out. Here’s what I found and it worked out perfectly:
1. 3 boxes of Raisin Bran Crunch (3/$10)
2. 3 boxes of Frosted Mini Wheats (3/$10)
3. 6 boxes of Kleenex (97 cents each)
4. 1 pkg of Reese’s as a filler (97 cents)
Total: $26.81
Used ECB: $26.50
Paid out of pocket: Just 31 cents!
Better yet, I walked out with: $10 ECB for next time (for buying the cereal)
PLUS: $5 concession cash for the movies!
(Since I found some hangers-on from the Toy Story 3 promotion, each box of Shredded Mini Wheat has 1 code. Three codes equal $5 concession cash! Luckily my husband is a fan of this cereal. Otherwise I wouldn’t have been able to take advantage of this part!)
Woo hoo! Now we’re all stocked up on cereal AND Kleenex (and boy, do we use it with a preschooler with allergies and heading into cold season). And I have a bunch of ECB left for my next trip!
