Budget Fashion – Fall 2012 at Target
I don’t think there’s any use in trying to hide the fact that I heart Target. Something about strolling down the aisles with that big red cart just makes me happy. The aisle-strolling usually happens with one or two little ones along, so there’s not a lot of time for browsing. They’re not quite as excited as I am to browse. Imagine.
But on those days when I have a stretch of alone time, I’m in the zone. The clothing zone. Just me and a few dozen clothing racks to browse. When I’m without kids, I even (gasp!) get to hit the dressing rooms to see if any of it fits. I know!
I’m a little in love with a lot of the details on the fall lines at Target.
Here are just a few of my favorites:
I love this just-sweet-enough polka-dot blouse. It hangs really nicely for a flattering fit. I think it’ll work well on its own or layered under a blazer or sweater for chillier days. If you look closely, there’s even a small ruffle on the neck. Love it!

I totally tried this sweater on a whim, expecting it to look way better on the hanger than actually on. Surprisingly, not the case. I didn’t purchase it, but believe it or not, I’m still considering going back for it. The color is bright and vibrant and it was just the right thickness for fall layering. If I could find the owl sweater from the same line that I (mistakenly!) passed over a couple weeks ago, I would totally grab it.

I’m pretty consistently impressed with the Converse One Star line at Target. They offer pieces that are slightly edgy, without going over the top. This is no exception. I love the detailing on this top. It comes in three colors: grey, white and maroon.

Such rich and gorgeous colors on these ruffle dresses.

I love the pleated skirt (and again, the colors) on this one!

I LOVE this ruffle jacket. And look – peplum!
And then… believe it or not…
I not only tried this leopard skirt on and fell.in.love, but I actually took the plunge and bought it! It’s made from a substantial layered cotton and feels well-made. And for just over $20, it’s worth the “splurge” on the animal-print trend. Pretty much Totally and completely outside my normal comfort zone, but I think it’ll be fun for a date night, girls’ night out or a blogging event.
What do you think? Would you try incorporating any of these pieces into your wardrobe?
