21 Days to a More Disciplined Life

21 days to a more disciplined life

Shortly after my daughter was born, I decided to get myself into a better fitness routine. Unlike every other time before that, this time I actually stuck to it — for a while, anyway. :)

I had never run before, but this time I got myself up from the couch, gradually adding distance, until I jogged my way straight through to my first half-marathon.

AND… back to the couch again. Quickly.

That six months of solid training was unforgettable for me, though.

For the first time in a long time, I set a clear fitness goal for myself. And I stuck with it like never, EVER before. I woke up each morning with that single fitness goal in mind and made sure I finished that daily run before my kids even knew I was awake.

I cannot stress enough how out of character this was for me. But during that time, I slowly became disciplined. Every additional morning that I jogged – or walked or just got out the door – was one step closer to reaching that larger goal.

How quickly that discipline can dissipate, when not tended to regularly, though.

After I completed my first (and only) half-marathon, I let myself “rest and recover” – and managed to let that great deal of momentum slide right back down again.

Two years later and you’d never know that I had once run around the block, much less a half-marathon.

Clearly I could use a little help getting that discipline back.

21 days to a more disciplined life

And that’s why I was so very excited to hear that Crystal of Money Saving Mom has come out with a new e-book that addresses just that: 21 Days to a More Disciplined Life.

I’m looking forward to using her tips and advice to motivate me to:

1. Get back to a regular workout/jogging routine.

2. Give up the carbonated beverages, once and for all.

3. Set (and keep) an earlier bedtime for myself.
